My youth icon is RAHUL GANDHI. The simple reason why I think he is the best is that he brought a youthful spirit into the UPA government. He is not one of those politicians who makes promises and let go off them. With him, I see a ray of hope coming into the Indian political system. His aura and personality connect with the youth of India.

My youth icon is AAMIR KHAN for making movies like Rang De Basanti, Lagaan, Tare Zameen Par and Mangal Pandey. His movies are not just commercial successes, but also have a message in them. For example, Rang De Basanti was a movie that brought out a feeling of nationalism and patriotism in me which further helped me in being no more a pessimist in my views towards my country. Apart from being an actor, he is also involved in many social issues like the ’Narmada Bachao Andolan’, which makes him a distinctive celebrity.

My youth icon is FARHAN AKHTAR. What drags me into his skin is that the guy so swiftly carries the whole new version of today’s youth. He is multitasking at its highest perfection. He is an epitome of glamour and genuine intelligence. Seeing him makes me believe, talent is never a monochromatic radiation, rather a blaze of rainbow. Be it direction, acting or singing, Farhan has excelled in everything.

My youth icon is SAINA NEHWAL. She represents India in my favourite sport, badminton. Currently ranked sixth in the world, she recently created history when she became the first Indian to win a Super Series tournament. In addition to this, all her achievements haven’t made her go overboard. She still remains the down-to-earth girl who prefers a simple lifestyle, though never falling behind in her determination to work hard to bring more laurels to the country.

For me my youth icon is A.R. REHMAN, the greatest sensation, not just in the Indian music industry but also on the international music scene. He has won the hearts of unlimited music lovers all over the world. His journey from a simple boy belonging to a middle class family to winning the mighty Oscar is unbelievable. He surely is an inspiration to all the aspiring musicians of the country and to those who want to make it BIG in their respective careers. Jai Ho!

My youth icon is LEANDER PAES simply for the great efforts he puts in in every game. Winning or losing, the outcome of a particular match never seems to affect Paes’ efforts. I have seen him dive full length at times when facing a match point. He speaks from his heart and plays with his heart. He has tremendous self-belief and is a fighter to the core.
