Chef ANURAG BALI is Corporate Chef with the Berggruen Group. During his career he has worked with some of the finest Indian Hotels including The Taj, Goa. Anurag wanted to be a chef from a very young age and thinks he’s doubly blessed because he’s following his dream and getting paid for it. He wants Indian teens to be savvier about food and through this section will introduce readers to a plethora of gastronomic, yet simple to make delights.

FUN WITH
BREAD!

ALL YOU NEED IS THAT NICE
LITTLE LOAF OF BREAD


INGREDIENTS: Sliced French bread n 1 small banana n 40 grams of dark chocolate n A pinch of cinnamon powder n 1 teaspoon sugar n 1 teaspoon of butter

METHOD: Slice banana into 1 inch rounds; n Rub with cinnamon powder and sugar; n Heat butter in a pan and cook sliced banana till caramelized (slightly browned) n Melt chocolate in a bowl (Cut chocolate into small bits and microwave for 20 seconds; mix with a spoon!) n Toast bread in a toaster n Spread a nice thick layer of chocolate on the toast n Top each slice with slices of caramelized banana n Serve!
# the next time round try the same with sliced strawberries if they are in season!!

INGREDIENTS: 6, one inch thick sliced French bread n 1 red tomato n Olive oil n Salt

METHOD: Toast slice of bread in a toaster or oven n Chop tomato into small pieces n Sprinkle tomato pieces on toasted bread n Drizzle olive oil on top n Sprinkle with a little salt... ready!!

CHICKEN SAUSAGE & CHEDDAR BRUSCHETTA INGREDIENTS: 2 chicken sausages n 1 tsp mustard paste n Crushed pepper n Diced cheddar cheese… let's say about half the amount of diced sausage!! n 6, one inch thick sliced French bread n One basil leaf n 1 tsp lemon juice n 1 tsp olive oil

METHOD: Rub chicken sausages with mustard paste n Heat oil in a pan, add the sausages and grill on all sides for a minute each n Take the sausages off the burner let it cool, then dice them n Mix in dices of cheddar cheese n Marinate this mixture of sausage & cheese with finely chopped basil, lemon juice and olive oil n Toast sliced bread in the toaster top with sausage mixture… ready.
