Competition
Seeing the stars I imagined one day,
Where the smell of competition in them lay?
I deeply thought why they don’t compete with each other,
I got the reply that they have the heart of a mother.
Can we too be like them was the first question that struck my mind,
The reply came, of course, if we could be polite and kind.
Vain is all that competition which turns into rivalry and enmity,
Which destroys the purest relation of amity.
This sense of jealousy and competition destroys peace on this beautiful God’s creation,
As the people are only worried to fulfil their temptations.
Because of this we all forget the almighty God,
Just as unchained cattle destroys a sod.
Competition which ultimately turns into rivalry should not enter anyone’s life,
Otherwise troubles will come as of the pinching from the knife.

A great mother
Your beautiful eyes are my way,
Your sweetest smile makes my day,
Dear mother, for your safety I pray,
Because our friendship is my life, I say.
The first to wake up every morning,
The last to go to bed, every night,
The one who is always by my side,
I am dear in your sight!
Being an umbrella in the rain,
Band-aid and dettol in my pain,
All my silly mistakes you do oversee,
But happy in my small victories.
Dear mother, never leave me alone
In this life's long race,
'Cos I love you and I need you,
By my side, to fight the world
With your loving mace!

Being with you
A fragrance spreads
In the immense sky
Of my feelings.
A bird sings
In the woods
Of my passions.
A lamp lights
In the temple
Of my heart;
And heart
Hums a prayer.
A music ripples
In the river
Of my thoughts.
A star twinkles
In the dark of my eyes,
I gaze at it
I muse and I smile
Is it love?
