What were your teenage dreams?

My dream was to become a football player. In my teenage years, whenever I got time, I used to play football; it was my first and only love. I come from a sports background; my father represents the railways for football at the national level and mother represents hockey in Madhya Pradesh.

Who is the inspiration behind your successful career?

My parents inspire me the most and I am proud of being born to such wonderful parents. Today I stand here because of their support and faith in me.

Your interest lay in sports, how did your on-screen career begin?

I am a die-hard fan of Salmaan Khan and he was my motivation behind aiming for a sculpted body and also inspires me to be an actor like him. After graduation, I took part in a contest that gave me a platform to be on screen as a model. As I started appearing on screen my interest grew deeper and here I am acting in serials. I modelled and did advertisements for several reputed brands including Levi's, Pepe Jeans, Jet Airways and many others.

What are the similarities and dissimilarities between you and Abhay?

Abhay is very mystical; he has many secrets beneath his calm and cold exterior. Well, I don't have many secrets in real life but yeah the similarity lies when it comes to loved ones, I will do anything to keep my family and friends safe and yeah, I am not a silent man as portrayed in the serial.

How is your off-screen chemistry with Piya Jaiswal?

We're great friends; we help each other as well as pull each other's legs and have fun all the time. (Laughs)

Your views on falling in love.

I am just 22 years old and will tie the knot after 8 years, but till then I want to focus on my career. Where love is concerned, it is very sacred thing and I don't believe in falling in and out of love all the time. As of now, I am a total mama's boy. Frankly speaking, love has never happened to me. In my teenage years, football was my only love and as I grew older I became serious about my life, my goals and my career.

Your opinion on "if drinking should be made legal before 25".

Today's youth are quite responsible and if we are allowed to vote at the age 18, why does the drinking age need to be 25? (Laughs) I'm sure teenagers will not take a wrong decision and will always stay within their limits.

Your message to our teen readers.

This is your age to study and achieve your goals. I'm not saying study 24x7 but balance your life between studies and enjoyment. Where your love life is concerned, love will come when the time is right.
